The first national HUN-REN Cloud Meeting took place in November 28th, hosted at the HUN-REN Wigner Research Center for Physics in Csillebérc.
The HUN-REN Cloud Meetup welcomed existing and potential users of one of the most significant Hungarian research infrastructures, the HUN-REN Cloud.
Dr. Péter Lévai, Director General of the HUN-REN Wigner Research Center for Physics, highlighted in his opening speech the prominent role the HUN-REN Cloud infrastructure plays in increasing scientific data assets. Dr István Szabó, Deputy CEO for Strategy and Innovation of the HUN-REN HQ, emphasized the importance of the cloud in the proliferation of Open Science. Dr Róbert Lovas, Deputy Director of HUN-REN SZTAKI and Project Director of HUN-REN Cloud presented the strategic role of the Cloud in domestic and international research, highlighting the iToBoS project as one of the great examples of international collaboration. Ádám Pintér, Head of the Data Center of the HUN-REN Wigner Research Center for Physics, reported on the 2025 development plans during the morning session.
The following sessions demonstrated the various scientific backgrounds of HUN-REN Cloud users, as the projects they presented derived from multiple disciplines, from analysing bird songs to exploring the challenges of personal medicine to taking a closer look at the secrets of outer space.
