The use of 8 dermoscopic modules allowed to explore the scanning of the full-patient body, acquired with the highest resolution requiring a short acquisition time.
With the use of 3D cameras, which are the same envisioned for the final scanner, 3D models from voluntary patients were created. Images captured with the scanner were used for the algorithm development for detecting individual moles and finding Inter and Intra exploration matching. These algorithms were later integrated in the final iToBoS scanner with minimum tuning. The 3D camera gathers detailed information about the three-dimensional shape of the patient being scanned.
Next figures show HRIM integrated in the gripper, without the hood (left), and the calibration pattern (right).
