Uncertainty Estimation in Deep Neural Networks for Dermoscopic Image Classification (2)

The high performance of machine learning algorithms for the task of skin lesion classification has been shown over the past few years. However, real-world implementations are still scarce.

Why the global semiconductors crisis affects us

In the last two years, the scarcity of semiconductors has become a global problem. The shortage of microchips is a consequence of the restrictions imposed by the pandemic situation and the closure of some factories and companies.

Data Minimization for AI models - Minimizing Machine Learning's Data Greed

As the use of AI becomes increasingly pervasive in business, machine learning models are one of the ways industries can best make the most of existing data to improve business outcomes.

What makes liquid lenses so fast?

In this article we explain why liquid lenses can be so fast and suitable for iToBoS body scanning purposes.

The speed of the liquid lenses

The total body scan intends to image the full body of the patient with high-resolution images. However, the human body is not a flat surface, so we will need to take many pictures of the same region, each one focused at a different distance, and compute a super-resolved image combining the regions resolved in each image.

iToBoS project at the Cross Domain Conference for Machine Learning and Knowledge Extraction (CD-MAKE 2022)

iToBoS participated in the Cross Domain Conference for Machine Learning and Knowledge Extraction (CD-MAKE 2022) that took place in Vienna, Austria, in August 24, 2022.

One of the objectives of the iToBoS project is to acquire a large dataset with different types of lesions from patients with diverse skin types, different phenotypes, and different degrees of UV damage.

Building of the iToBoS Cloud: EU Landscape

The goal of the Intelligent Total Body Scanner for Early Detection of Melanoma (iToBoS) project is to utilize the power of Artificial Intelligence and develop a new diagnostic device to combat melanoma, a highly dangerous type of skin cancer.
